is anyone using a flatscreen monitor?

I wouldn't bother with these until there are more guns that work with flat screens.
Other problem is, while these screens are great for viewing still pics, or using PC apps, I notice a lot of screens have streaking or fringing on sharp, rapidly moving graphics. Be careful what type of screen you're getting, you'll most likely have to go for a more expensive type (not LCD) to avoid this issue.

I believe you're right. I am curious to know if a flat CRT gets along with an Act-Labs gun, though. Anyone?

The curvature ought to have little to do with the reliability of a light gun. If it was even a factor at all, I'd say it would work better on a flat crt.
