weird Z80 connector on pac board
mammoth:
i have an original pac board i just found in storage and the slot for the Z80 chip has male connectors sticking out - any idea why? all my other pac and ms pacs (yes i know they were suppose to be the same board)- but this ones different - (1) any idea why i might have removed it (2) do they make a female Z80 (3) easiest and quickest way to fix the problem. thanks guys.
tbombaci:
Pic?
Maybe the connector for the Ms. Pac ribbon cable has been torn off, exposing the pins for the cable?
Do the stickers on ROMS at locations 5e and 5f read "Ms. Pac Man" or "Pac man"?

mammoth:
too clean to be torn off - was at ca the day they were coming off the truck (for you youngsters that's C.A. Robinson's in CA.)thought it was the stupidest game i had seen to date - any way back to the topic -I'll check chip i.d. - any body else have a theory?
dabone:
Pin headers instead of a socket???
(Basically a socket without the plastic that surrounds it.)
Kinda like this but with less plastic around them.
Later,
dabone
mammoth:
no - these are clean factory looking male pins without any burn marks around them - my kid just got back with my camera will try to send good pic soon - thanks bob
