I feel like I'm missing something... can't you just save games to the HDD?  I suppose rumble apeals to some, but I hate it personally.  Not trying to knock the adaptoid at all, just not sure what the appeal of the memcard usage would be.

I just did a little looking around the net... and it seems that you can use most of the "game pad" controllers for these emulators.  So, unless you need authentic controls, use some thing like Nyko Airflo or similar game pad.
Not sure about the whole game save thing... But, isn't that build into the P64 emulator?

If you played a game like Perfect dark on an N64 and you've gotten to a place in the game that you recognize or maybe have that perfect multiplayer setup with bots that look like agents from the Matrix, then the Adaptoid is perfect because it presumably will read and download the actual game saves from the original mempack ... all that through the usb port.  So you're kind of spending the extra dough to have the authentic experience on your pc, if you get my drift.  If you don't care to have the games play from the point you remember or just want to play with cheats, then you could easily get another adapter.  I thought long and hard about this one and decided that authenticity would be worth it.  No other adapter that I've ever encountered has had such universal acclaim.  The only gripe I've ever seen about it was price, especially when they're hawked on ebay.  Hope that explains why crazy people like myself would shell out the extra $15-$20.
