Trackball Woes
sc1103:
Ive tried...I go through either system then device manager or ill do add hardware, but it wont let me install a mouse driver...so how can i access the drivers? sorry to be such a pain but manual installation of drivers is not my strong point :P
RayB:
??? You go online and find the drivers for that Happ device, download, then install.

I replaced the optic boards in one of my Happs 3" (tks again to you, RayB ... saved me a nice amount!) with those for the Happs USB/PS/2 kit, plugged into my XP machine and presto, magico ... no additional drivers required (nor mentionned in the documentation).
The OP says that the trackball was dead before ... so I must ask ... what, exactly, qualified it as dead ?

Only problem is it should automatically be recognized as a standard mouse, 2 buttons. If you want 3 buttons, you find your own. I just want the two for now.

It was the same exact problem-USB was an unknown device, nothing for PS/2. I tried it on a Win 95 laptop, Win 98 machine, 5 different XP machines with various service packs, all nothing. Sent it back, the optics were replaced and it was the same exact problem. We now think there may be a problem w/ the cable, as the optics worked perfectly in another trackball.
