Best place on a cabinet for a volume control knob?
sofakng:
I'm getting ready to setup a volume control knob on my arcade cabinet (thanks to Oscar from oscarcontrols.com -- he was a **HUGE** help).
What I'm wondering is where to put the actual knob. It would be nice to have it on the front of the control panel, but I personally think it looks a bit ugly there so I was thinking about putting it on the top of the control panel next to where my power button is going... (please feel free to comment on the placement of the power button too!)
Shape D.:
I'd try to find a place to hide it, and I deffinately wouldn't put it on the control panel. Maybe under it though.
IntruderAlert:
how about putting it next to your pause button?
SirPoonga:
Arcade owners that hacked a pot onto the speaker usually put the voule on top of the cabinet next to the marquee light switch.

Thanks for the replies!
I don't want to put it next to the pause button since it's on the control panel itself...
I also don't have a marquee light -- mine stays on all the time. Is that bad? (the switch for the light is on the cable itself, which is inside the cabinet) It turns on whenever I turn the cabinet on (using a smartstrip).
I agree with trying to hide it, which is why I'm thinking about mounting it on the top of the cabinet next the power switch... (which isn't there yet, but will be soon... [honest!])
