Power Connector

Steve B.:
I don't think I've ever seen one with a built-in rocker switch, but if it helps, what you are searching for is called an IEC socket.

vader:
Yep, they have em with rockers,  I ordered one and wired it up, works like a charm.  Only problem is, I misplaced it....dammit.  Ordered up
another one from mouser.com, this time illuminated.  Woohoo....and FYI, this is called a Power Entry Module.

Hey vader,

That looks like a cool idea - what part# did you order?  Also, I'm electrically-challenged, would I need a 1-pole or 2-pole?

Thanks!

I don't understand why you would need that to use a power strip inside your cabinet.  There is no outlet on the inside, so you would have to wire the smart strip to it.  Why couldn't you just wire the smart strip to the current power wires inside and use the current power switch?  If it's a new cab the same thing would work, or wire an outlet inside the cabinet.   ???

I think it's more for cosmetics.  You can either have one of these supplying power to your cabinet, or you can have a power cord hanging out of it from the powerstrip.  Doesnt look as sloppy if you have one of these and you can buy the cables at a dollar store.
