How to fix optical PCBs for Happs Trackball

(1/1)

fredster:
Does anyone know how to actually fix the optical pcb's?

Where to get the special optical transistors and parts to fix a happs cheap?

Not a mouse hack, but actually fix one that's fried?

JODY:
Happs sells parts.  Bob Roberts has them too.

fredster:
I know you can by the entire optical PCB, but I was talking about just the optical transistor.

I can't find the source for those.

See, the optical PCB's cost about $12 ea.  I think those transistors cost about $0.50

Anybody ever Fix the optical pcb and have tips?

Popcorrin:
You can make one fairly easy.  Check out Oscar's website, or maybe it was ultimarc,  I know one of them has a tutorial on how to make one.

fredster:
It depends on the optics of the trackball to work.

Mostly people just replace them when the go bad, but man, it has to be easy to fix it.
I coudn't find a schematic parts list for the board.
