Converting a Cabinet
RayB:
I have a question, and it applies as much to anyone else as it does to this thread's starter:
Why does the player # choices always seem to be between 2 players or cramming 4 players? What's wrong with supporting 3 players?
~Ray B.
DreamWeb:
That's a pretty terrific option, actually.
But, most multiplayer games are either 2.. or 4. So, 3 would be a bit odd. But, should be considered.
Thanks! And, I think everyone is right. Gauntlet 2!

RayB:
There have been a few 3 player games ;)
Rampage, Battletoads, Xenophobe, Mercs, Combatribes ...
Besides, all 4 player games BECOME 3 players games if you only have 3 controls. ;D
NoOne=NBA=:
The problem with a 3-p setup is that it doesn't work very well for TWO players.
With a 4-p setup, you end up with p-1 and p-2 centered on the front of the cab.
With a 3-p setup, p-2 ends up off to one side.
Not a HUGE deal, but could be annoying for your buddy that always gets stuck off to the side.
RayB:
Bah, my buddy would be the Guest in my home and I would graciously offer him the P1 spot. ;)
