Bartop with "5 in one Namco" game?

<< < (2/12) > >>

cobracon:
It looks even better in person. I got my Berzerk cab for jimmyjet and was very impressed when I seen the Galaga Bartop. Very cool!

CIA_Guy:
None of those are exactly the one I was thinking of, but they give me exactly what I was looking for -- an example.

I was thinking about putting a 5in1  into a bartop to give my 6-year-old a problem-free arcade.  I just don't want to deal with stuffing one of my spare computers into a cabinet and configuring MAME!

Thanks for the links and examples....now to find the time to make something.....

paigeoliver:
People are now making them and being 100 percent honest about them on ebay and STILL getting really high prices for them.

My only issue with these is that the image quality is not the best, it has some noticeable static.

The best legal one I have seen is the sega genesis one.

Or, if the booth at your mall hasn't been shut down yet then grab the NES one, with the so called 10,000 games (seems to be only 45 unique titles).

melarky:
I know which one you were talking about, I found the link for it on the google group, but it looks like the pictures have been removed already:

It was really bad, it looked like a wood box that had the corners cut off on one end.  Go to the arcade collectors google group (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.games.video.arcade.collecting?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8) and do a search within that group for "wtf bartop" and you'll find their old thread.

If you search ebay for "bartop" you can usually see the latest bartop arcades for sale there.  Looks like there are 2 of the Jakks ones on there now, one from jimmyjet (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13716&item=6135203904&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) and a new pacman one from somebody else (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62053&item=6136128709&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW).

Stingray:
I've been thinking about building one of these for my brother in law. He really likes my MAME cab, but knows nothing about computers. I guess if I set up a real MAME system right he wouldn' have to know anything about computers, but I really don't want to do lifetime tech support on the thing.
