Need new tube for WG K7200

(1/1)

daeven:
I received a used 19" WG K7200 monitor yesterday.  The neck got snapped in shipping.  Can anyone tell me the resistance ranges I should be looking for in a replacement tube/yoke?

Ken Layton:
According to my Wells-Gardner CRT part number manual, the 19k7200 series uses these tubes:

Samsung A48KRD89X (Wells # 088X0403-506)

Rauland A48ACB24X (Wells # 088X0290-506)

Orion A48JLL40X46 (Wells # 088X0413-506)

You can purchase these with yoke attached & prealigned from the parts dept at Wells-Gardner (1-800-336-6630).

Generally Wells uses the low impedance vertical yoke winding.

Kguns:
Does anyone know where I can currently purchase a Orion A48JLL40X46 (Wells # 088X0413-506). Recently discovered an old Touch Master and was hoping to get it working. It seems the tube is the only issue and a replacement would solve all issues. Thank you!

No companies I know of sell new tubes any more, although they can be found sold by individuals occasionally.
You will probably have just as much luck using a curb find consumer TV tube really.
Those 7000 series chassis are super tolerant of a fairly wide range of yoke resistance/inductance values.
Later models of cheap CRT TVs have relatively lower resistance yokes and frequently work great as donor substitutes.

I would go looking for an old 19" TV and get out the multimeter.

And we miss ya Ken.
