To slant or not to slant...
Jabba:
I've seen a lot of examples where the control panel is either slanted (10 degreees or less), or not slanted (i.e., 90 degrees).
I'm interested in your opinions on this subject. Why did you slant/not-slant your control panel?
Pros and Cons of each?
If you slanted it, what angle did you use? The deeper the CP, the less "angle"?
Thanks for the feedback!
Can you guess, I've got a decision to make with my new CP...
RayB:
Slant!

I was an advocate for slanting at first but then I realized, slants assume you are directly in front of the CP, what if you are off to the side like often happens on two player games, then you'd have to angle your hand the opposite way even more. Besides it also depends on how close your hand is to the buttons, the closer the more angle so spread them apart a bit
my friend is having his built with a 15' angle so I'll see what that feels like
SteveJ34:
I built based on a slightly modified Lusid design. IIRC that is about a 10 degree slant.

I think one of the reasons they are slanted is to prevent drinks from dripping into the cab. It's also hard to put cigarettes on it, because everything rolls off.
It may also be that it's ergonomic to have it slightly slanted.
