Marquee retaining methods - What do you use?

Hey Ras,

I found some great carpet molding at Home Depot.  And since your cabinet has the same basic design as mine, I think it would work great for you.  Nice and clean, *especially* on the bottom lip.  That angle on the UAII had me a little worried.  I'll get a picture of it up.

btw  What's the width of your cab?

Okay, here we go:

The piece on the left is for the to and works like Happ's retainer.  The screws go into the top of the cab, so you don't see them.  The piece on the right is for the bottom.  I was worried that with the angle on the speaker panel, I'd have to bend something to fit.

This piece, however, attaches right to the exposed edge and becomes a track for the marquee plexi to fit in.  The slot is 1/4" wide.

Once the moldong is attached and the marquee is inserted the look is super clean.

Hope this helps,

Coop

You're in the UK, right?  If you run out of ideas (and around here, that's near impossible), let me know and I can send you some from my left over pieces.

Hey that's wicked.  I can how the top piece fits on, that's very straightforward.  But I still can't envisage how the bottom strip fits on.  I've sent you a private message!

EDIT: Doh, I was being extremely dim....ok I think this is how you mean - tell me if I'm right >>>

again, check your private message concerning you're offer!
cheers mate

Precisely!  Nice drawing, by the way.

I just used some very small nails to hold it on the edge.

They definitely need to be painted though, as the finishes of the pieces don't match very well.
