Dreamcast vga->yuv: worth it?
« on: November 02, 2004, 06:59:00 pm »
I know the dreamcast has vga output, but my hdtv only has component yuv input. :-\

I could build a circuit to convert the vga to component, but is it worth it in terms of picture quality?  Or should I just use svideo?

Progresive DC output is worth it in my opinion...but only if you have a big HDTV.  If its 25" or less don't bother and go s-video.  VGA to Component transcoders run around $40 if you wanted to buy and not build.

It's a 47" panasonic widescreen HDTV.

I didn't know the DC had progressive output, but that's even better.
It's not worth $40 though, considering I only paid $20 for the Dreamcast.
