Lazarus and consoles?
« on: September 17, 2002, 02:21:37 am »
I'm having so much trouble adding consoles like Nes and Snes to Lazarus.

After I edit the nes.cfg and snes.cfg I'm pretty much stuck. I've been messing with the nes.dat files found at www.romcenter.com but is still on square #1.

Could someone tell me how to do this properly or even send me the files needed?

By the way, which emulator do you use for Nes and Snes?

Anyway, thanks for a great frontend Castro, it kickes ass!

Ok first off the files at romcenter won't work as they are in romcenter format... you need clrmame dat files which are in the listinfo format.  Also you need the wrappers.  I suggest yo consult the online documentation.  All of that stuff is in there.

It's not that I'm lazy or anything but it would be easier if someone that already made a working wrapper for Nes and Snes to send them to me. ;)

I've read the onlinedoc but I'm not that good at that kind of stuff.

You don't have to make a wrapper, you just configure one of the generic ones... I suggest you read the documentation further.

Well then lazaurs probably isn't the fe for you... sorry. :(

I expect people to put a bit of work into setting up their software, I'm not going to hold your hand.  I've often expressed an interest in making a page where you could download others configurations, but no one has ever sent me any so it would be kind of silly to make a blank page.

Lazarus was supposed to be a community project but unfortunately very few people are willing to contribute.  I'm here guys as always I will accomidate anything you've got for me.

I have neglected to post sirp's and izaram's utilities but that is because I have been taking a break from lazarus.  I hope you guys understand, I will post those by the end of the week.  :)

Ok, i downloaded "CMDlinekit2.0", edited zinc.cfg to nes.cfg and all the stuff in it. Did the same thing with the catver and changed it to match Nes.
Now I'm stuck at the .dat's, where do I go from now on?

As I said earlier, someone must have done this before me and is sitting on a nice config for both Nes and Snes.

--==Please anyone who already has a config for Snes and Nes send the to me please!==--
