My Mame Cab
CRiMiNaL:
Hi all!
This is my first post on BYOAC :) I hope i make it a good one ;)
I resonantly started my first mame arcade cab project.....I know the layout i want for the control panel....I am using a 21" panasonic tv for the video.....and will have it hooked in to my ati readon 9100 vid card.......the video is better then normal on this tv for some reason......itz a normal sdtv tho...
The set up i'm using will have my computer and comp monitor hooked up alongside the arcade cab so both the tv and comp monitor will be running simultaneously off the video card....
The plans i'm going by to build it are from cdbrown's AutoCAD plans for his Mame Cab.....made by Kelsey From Oscar Controls (very nicely done)
I have no clue how to use AutoCAD....i only know how to view the AutoCAD files....what i wanted to do was modify cdbrown's AutoCAD file to fit my 21" TV, my speakers, sub-woofer, and height.
What i need is someone to help me modify this file to fit the messurments i require.....so i can start cutting the plywood for the cab....the file is to big to post 288kbytes so i was wondering could i email it to someone here that knows how to use AutoCAD
Heres a pic of what i'm trying to accoplish.....lol gota love mspaint :) I also have some other drawings but they are to big to post...
Thx!

Well I don't see your pic, but I would think the only real measurement you'll have to alter is the width of the cab. The sides would remain the same, and the cab woulc be skinnier to accomodate the smaller screen. This is of course assuming these plans are for a 25" machine ( I don't know them off hand). IF they are for a 19" cabinet, you won't have to make any changes, as I'm almost positive you can fit a 21" screen in a 19" cabinet.
Either way, if there are measurements on the plan, just be sure the inside width of the machine will fit the outer width of your monitor. Everything else is incidental. You can fit your computer, speakers etc in any cab practically, you won't have to modify plans specifically for that. Just make sure you're monitor will fit and you'll be fine.
You might also want to consider giving yourself some extra room if you ever plan to upgrade your monitor. A 21" TV wouldn't look bad by any means in a 25" cab, and if you ever wanted a bigger screen, you'd be screwed if you made the machine just wide enough for your TV.
cdbrown:
The plans he is referring to are on my site but more specifically right here.
The mspaint he did up is this
