P360 stick will not do diagonals
deanimate:
Ok i bought this MASS super pro stick with a 360 joystick in it. Now forget the the MASS fact as i cant see how it could be anything other than the stick itself which is why im really really hoping someone here might be able to shed somelight on it.
Basically i got it and diagonals did not happen at ALL. I know barely anything about sticks but quickly read round and did check the actuator. thin bit is pointing towards the e-clip for 8 way mode so no problems there.
(i did swap it round just to try however)
Now the other night it did do a FEW diagonals. mainly up-right it. up-left was extremely intermittent if at all.
Now i thought maybe that it just needs to wear itself in but then i mean to barely hit any diags at all??? surely thats not right? Quickly tried it this morning and it hit absolutely none.
I know there was that issue with the resistor (or something like that) that was underpowered i think and the manufacturer acknowledged this and has changed them now but did i maybe get an old stick that had been lying around and has that issue?
I really would prefer to resolve this issue myself if possible as it took long enough to get here and i dont really want to have to wait another month for MASS to sort it and then get stung by yet more shipping (live in uk)
Any ideas are appreciated!
DYNAGOD:
did you remove the c-clip and flip the 8-4 way sleeve just for shits and giggles.

You never said what kinda encoder you were using. Maybe a IPAC?? I had the same problem with P360's and my IPAC.
Search is your friend.

Summary: I found that my P360 IS actually doing diagonals, just the IPAC software wasnt showing them in it's little diagnostic mode. Diagonals work great in games, and great in other "keyhook" type programs.
Read the full thread that I linked you to, and see if it helps.

Thanks for replies guys :)
Yeah i did take the e-clip off and switch the actuator around just to check but no difference and its definetly the right way round.
Errrr im not too sure about this IPAC thing? Let me expand a bit. Basically i got this joystick to use on both the pc and also to use on the PS2 console. Ive got a Hori Real Arcade Pro and that works a treat on both PC and PS2.
I got the stick to play street fighter type games. Pretty much just them really. Might try others but right now its street fighter games all the way :)
Ill check the thread out and also find out about what IPAC is :]
TalkingOctopus:
I doubt a mas joystick uses an ipac. Do the diagnols work on the PS2? I think you may have got a messed up joystick and should deal with mas.
