DosCab JB Issue

<< < (2/2)

Chris:
Doesn't the PCI128 require a special SB emulation driver loaded for DOS?  Can you post your autoexec.bat and config.sys?

--Chris

jackblotto:
Yes it does require a special driver.  Took me a LONG time to get the settings correct especially since this is a new system board and the hardware device settings where "odd" compared to most examples.  But this works for both dos mame and arcos, ie I get the expected sounds. Once again, doscab doesn't seem to fail in any way, the songs just don't play.  Get no sound ininialization errors though.

THANKS VERY MUCH, dp

Here are the entries from:

autoexec.bat

set tmp=c:\temp
set temp=c:\temp
set path=C:\windows;c:\windows\command
set blaster=a220 i10 d1 h5 p330 t2
SET SBPCI=C:\DOSDRV
c:\dosdrv\sblegacy.exe
C:\DOSDRV\SBINIT.COM
C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE

config.sys

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS NOVCPI
DOS=HIGH, UMB

Chris:
Try adding the following four lines to the end of your jukebox.ini:

[sound]
digi_card = ESC
sound_dma = 1
sound_irq = 10

Does that help?

jackblotto:
No I get the same thing, any song I choose queues up and shows 0:00/4:15 (4:15 obviously being dependant on song length of whatever I chose). The song never actually plays and stays at 0:00. I tried creating an allegro.cfg like I saw suggested in some reponses and tried a few settings with digi_card and midi_card being set, but no luck.  The jukebox.ini [sound] settings didn't seeme to make a difference.

Bottom of log file looks like this (the exit is me closing the app not it dying).:

MAIN: About to set titlestrips...
MAIN: Starting GUI...
Trying to load c:/mp3/collec~1/collec~1\COLLEC~3.MP3...
LOADER: Loaded 2905885 bytes for file
Starting song Untitled, type 1
DOSCab Jukebox 3.0b3 Exited
