Tempest spinner opti board pinout? Can it be used with opti-pac?
exibar:
Anyone have th epinouts for the tempest spinner optical encoder board? Can I use that board with an Optipac or should I just stick my Happ encoder board on it? I'll have to drill a couple holes in the psinner to mount the Happ board, so I'd really like to use the Tempest encoder board that's on the spinner now...
thanks all!

Oscar has a good article on his website about converting a Tempest spinner using the Vortex optic board, and his USB mouse hack.
That is probably the easiest way to get one working in your cab.

I have the HAPP board that works fine with my tron spinner in my desktop console that I made. But, I've removed it in preparations to put it on the tempest spinner. I have two Tempest spinners, both with opti boards, I'd really like to use those boards as they are known good boards and are already mounted to the spinner....
So, the easiest thing for me to do would be to use the Tempest spinner opti board if someone has the pinouts for me.
The second easiest thing for me to do is to use the Happ board (have to drill a couple holes in the spinner, no biggie, just don't wanna if I don't have to)
The third easiest thing for me to do would be to purchas a Vortex board from Oscar, wait the week for it to come in, then attach it to the spinner, drilling new holes I'm sure too... That would actually make your suggestion the hardest thing for me to do :-) (please don't take this the wrong way, I mean zero offense by that).
Do you, or anyone, have th epinouts for the Tempest spinner Opti board? I can't find them even after Googling for an hour or so :-(

I have an original tempest spinner here. The original atari optic board works just fine with my optipac. Let me check my connections and I'll post back...

OK, with the spinner upside down, looking into the connector, from left to right:
