Hankin Tabletop project - Australia

(1/12) > >>

marcus.:
Hi all!

Im new here and have recently completed the first of a small batch of scratch built tabletops .The design should be familiar to most aussies. its based on early 80's 20" hankin tabletop.

I have a crude website under construction, but at the moment more pics can be seen at  www.users.on.net/~mmem

Let me know what you think!

Edgedamage:
#1 welcome

#2 nice looking cab.

rchadd:
nice looking cab

with all that CP width i'm surprised you put one 1 joystick and 2 buttons on it.

could try squeezing a 2 1/4" trackball on there for some Centipede action

and another joystick on there for some Robotron and crazy climber

marcus.:
Thanx !

Cab i s vertical screen only and has about 50 classics on it.
(advancemame/menu - dos)
I wanted to keep as close to the originial design as possible.
I also think in some cases too many buttons/controls can intimidate those not arcade orientated..ie wifes, little kids, mums etc (seriously not wishing to start a debate)
track ball would be nice but centipede plays well enough with 8way for now.

here is a pick of the beatup old cab i took the design from...

I dig it. You say you are making multiples? For sale or for friends or for both?

Also, I have a cocktail which is pre-drilled for 2 buttons (plus start) I wish it only had 1, personally. Name like three really good classic verticals with more than one button, opps.... wait, don't. No debating!  ;D
