27" TV with no auto power on feature
« on: August 26, 2004, 05:13:57 pm »
Hey everyone. As my title states, I have an rca 27" tv, with svideo out that I have been using in my cab for about 4 months now. The ONLY thing that i hate about the tv is, when i turn my power strip on, everything comes on but the TV! I have to manually get out the remote, turn the TV on and hit the input button twice to get to the SVID channel. Sure it doesnt take that long, but its just a real pain.

Do I have any other options? Getting another TV is not an option at this time :(

I read somewhere, that if you can somehow hold the powerbutton down on the TV the entire time, it will come back on when the power strip comes on. I tried this and it WORKED, but i still have to switch it to the SVID input with the remote.

So am I screwed or what? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

ick

I can't believe it doesn't remember the last selection you were on. In my opinion that is very weird. Have you tried turning off the TV with the remote (instead of flickng it off via the power switch) once while it was on S-Video? It might have a "save last selection to memory on powerdown" feature or something. Just a wilkd guess, but hey, it could work.

There are relays that close a circuit once on power up; I wonder if there is such thing are "double-relays" that would do it twice?

Yeah thats what i tried. Held the power button down, then turned the tv off with the remote. But it still wont remember the channel :(
