SF3 etc
« on: August 25, 2004, 09:52:57 pm »
I know this question has been asked before....  When is SF3 going to work for mame?

The reason im asking, and it may be completely unrelated... I was at my friends house the other day playin SF3 on his cab (dreamcast hack) and he booted up a dreamcast emulator and loaded SF3 up.  It ran like garbage, but is this a step in the right direction?  If its emulated there, does that mean there is hope in the near future it will be emulated in MAME?  Thanks, and sorry for the redundant question hehe

you will be better off spending your time interfacing a dreamcast to your cab than waiting on mame to get to it..

The official answer is never.

SF3 is protection is VERY difficult...

But what will make it harder is that the board is will commit suicide faster then a ...ok removed my reference in that it should have offended everyone...  and those who it didn't offended would offend everyone else.

So the CPS2 breakthrough / trojan style of beating it is almost impossible until someone is ready to destroy a ton of boards.

And last... its not worth it since most cps3 games have near perfect ports to other systems..   So I don't see anyone working on it.
