Cocktail Games that has a working screenflip..
Johnny:
I would like to have a list of Vertical Games that have a working flipscreen mode in Cocktail mode.
Is there any list made or program avaiable to make this possible?
Thanx

Howard_Casto:
This should be in the software forum.
You do know that screenflip has nothing to do with cocktail orientation right?
The info can be easily found by looking for the entry "cocktail" in the possible dip settings in a generated listinfo/listxml file. I don't think there are any specific tools to determine this though.

I think AdvanceMame allows you to flip ANY game even if it wasn't designed for cocktails. Just hit the / or \ key (I forget which), and it will rotate it 180 degrees.
Definitely expands the number of games you could play on a cocktail.
Howard_Casto:
Again... screen flipping has NOTHING to do with cocktail mode. A 180 degree flip simply turns the game upside-down. Great for player 2, but now player 1 is screwed. cocktail games generally have to be designed to be cocktial games.

1-I never said that you could play two player COOPERATIVE games using a 180 flip. Just that using a manual flip for upright only games to switch to the second player's control side when it's their turn.
2-For a HUGE (guessing 95%+) selection of games, cocktail mode switches mean exactly 180 flip when it's player two. I can't recall off the top of my head any games (at least in the classic era) that played cooperatively in cocktail mode. They all simply flipped the screen when it was player 2's turn, which is exactly what the / key does in AM on the games that don't flip because they were upright only.
