DIY bezel for cocktail cab

(1/2) > >>

rchadd:
i need a bezel for a 21" monitor i will be fitting in a cocktail cab.

unfortunately the happ 19" bezel will probably be too small.

i have seen the posting for $2 DIY bezel which looks like a feasible solution. however i am not sure how well it will work for a cocktail .

anyone else made a DIY bezel for fitting in cocktail style cab? any tips on best way to fit it?

whammoed:
Hmmm, i don't know...but i think the happs bezel is meant for a 19 or 20" monitor.  Computer monitors that are 21" either have 19" or 20" viewable so the happ bezel may work better than you think.  It will not match the curve of your tube perfectly because computer monitors have fst (flat sqaure tube) but it may be close enough.

OK, from someone who has done like 20+ cabinets I can say truthfully and knowledgably that a 19" arcade monitor bezel does not, will not and cannot match up to any common computer tube, and certainly not if you don't decase the PC monitor.

My Defender has an framed arcade style 21" VGA with a 19" bezel in front of it, and the bezel blocks a bit of the screen area. It is only acceptable on that cab because it has some serious smoked plexi and you can barely see the bezel.

With your cocktail you are better off just painting your monitor case black and then putting a piece of smoked plexi or glass in front of the tube. You won't even be able to tell that there is no bezel then.

rchadd:
it is not a computer monitor - it is a 21" hantarex mtc eq/2 video monitor with scart input.

it has a curved tube and has mounting frame like arcade monitor.

paigeoliver:
Ok, still won't match up though. Those bezels are designed for specific exact sizes of tubes and they just don't match up to other sizes.
