Anyone know of a material like this?

Demon-Seed:
Hello,
Right now my panel is made of wood. It is the typical style with a small wooden box underneat. the top is covered with plexit, but I am not happy with the bottom. I sanded it, and used wood filler but still can see the spots where it joins, and I dont like the wood look.. (its painted black right now) What I am wondering is do they make a vinyl or plastic type of material i can cover it with? it would make it look manufactured sort of and would not show the cracks? I am sure they make something I am just not sure what or where to buy. I will go to home depot later this week and check, I guess could use wallpaper but I want it durable.

let me know if you can help
thanks
JIM

How about the Parts Express Black Pica Vinyl?  Cut to size and wrap right around.  No seams showing.

That sounds really good have you got a link or pics????

thanks
Jim

Doc-:
Parts Express is at:

  http://www.partsexpress.com/

My modular panels are covered in it - lots of picts from the link in the signature block.

However, the flash tends to emphasize a "gloss" on the vinyl that is not there with natural lighting.  My cabinet is painted semi-gloss black, and the parts express textured vinyl is a very good match.

There are a few pictures without the flash on the main page that give you a better idea of the look.

Try some Sheetrock 90, same as plaster for gyprock, I used it on mine and it worked great. You can get it at any home reno store and it's cheap.
