Mame "bad dump" messages
(1/1)
REBIRTH:
Forgive me if this was answered before - I did a search and only found some solutions within verius frond ends. Sometimes when starting a game in Mame, before you actually get into the game, you get something like a "no good dump" known or other types of error messages that end with "hit a key to continue" (these aren't the "tyoe OK messages, these are before you actually get into Mame). Is there a way to skip this within Mame itself, some command line function?
Thanks
Thenasty:
not with the official MAME becuase ppl will complain/report that the game is not WORKING correctly, thats why that message is there. You need to use an UN-Official version of MAME (NoNameMame,ADvmame) cause this version you can't report to the official MAME site about problems it encounters.

Those messages aren't a problem - those are once you get once in Mame and you can skip over using the -skip_.... functions (like -skip_disclaimer). The ones I am taking about are before you actually get into Mame, when the ROM file is being interrogated, sometimes you get a "bad dump" type message and then is followed with a "press any key to continue"... there apprently is no way to skip those (assuming the 8 people that emailed me in response to this post are correct)
