What games use a spinner?

If that is so, then chances are it is not properly emulated in MAME.  Like SNK rotary sticks are treated as dials I believe, but do not use optics...

just wondering how many fire buttons would be required for a spinner CP?

i suppose most spinner games don't need many fire buttons.

would just 1 fire button be sufficient or more required?

I'm building a trackball/spinner/analog stick panel atm...so I have 3 buttons for Missile Command, and that should cover spinner games.  I think some spinner games use 2 buttons, oh, and Blasteroids uses 3.

Star Trek uses 4.

I'm just going by what I've observed while playing beatmania/hiphopmania in MAME. I've only had the chance to play it in arcades a few times. When the subject of beatmania as a spinner game came up, I just knew that mame treated the turntable as buttons and not a spinner. Someone who has experience with the actual arcade hardware would likely know for sure.

If i implement a removable CP with just a spinner and 3 buttons - will i still be able to control the FE? For example will the spinner allow me to scroll up/down and select a game in the list?

Or would I have to use one of the joystick CPs to use the FE?

Currently undecided on which FE to use - currently thinking about using MameWAH. Any recommendations?

The only thing with MameWAH is that it doesn't allow different emulators in the same game list - or am i wrong???

basically i would like all playble games listed in a single list (mame, espxe, daphne,pc games). it should support both horiz and vert displays. ideally it would support joystick, TB and spinner control operation.
