PC Power Supply Question

(1/2) > >>

Gameboy.au:
Hi all,

I'm using a spare PC power supply (AOpen microATX Model FSP145-60SI) for all of my illumination needs, however, I've hit a brick wall.

Does anyone know which wires to short/connect to force the power supply to power up?

I just assumed that it was the "Power Good Signal" wire to one of the Ground wires.  After doing this and nothing happening, I can gladly report that I am dead set wrong.  :-[

Any help would be great.

Cheers guys.

I wrote up how to do this on my website. It's toward the bottom.

If I can jump on this thread, after performing the hack which wires from the molex should be used to lets say power up some cooling fans?  I think the molex connectors have 4 wires (off the top of my head) right?

Industen:
Well assuming you don't have molex type cooling fans that you can just connect to the PS you can tap into the yellow (12-volt) and black (ground) wire to power them. Or you can use the red (5-volt) and black (ground) to power a 5-volt source.

To see how to hook up lights or fans to a PC Power supply see blakesmame website:

It has a small write up on this.
