Mame Coin Mech Question

(1/2) > >>

rchadd:
I am thinking about getting one of these coin acceptor/mech units for my cocktail cab.

But I have seen many cabs have coin doors with 2 mechs (for players 1 and 2?)

I am just wondering if i will miss out on any fucntionality by having just one mech wired up to the Coin1 connection on the Ipac?

Will Players 1 and 2 be able to credit up ok with just one mech installed?

SirPeale:
It really depends on the game.  Some games it matters what slot you put your coin into, and some don't.  I think the majority don't.  Only like the fighters, where you assume a particular stance, do.

The biggies are usually the 3 or more player beat-em ups (Gauntlet, Simpsons, Cowboys of Moo Mesa, etc).  They are usually positional to determine which player you'll play as (i.e. position one is Homer, 2 is Bart, 3 is Lisa, 4 is Marge, and the coin slots correspond)

DeathDealer:
Question: Where did you get that Coin Mech???????????

The best all-around solution to this would be to hide a P2 coinup somewhere.
That way you can use the single coin mech for games that support it, and the hidden button for games that don't.

If you are using an encoder with shift functions, you could use Shift+P2 Start as the P2 coinup as well.
