Wingman Warrior spinner with MAME32

Get LES23.EXE from this link:

I tried wiring up the spinner to some mouse circuitry, but that never went beyond the trial & error stage. To complete this project, I would actually have to figure out how the spinner and the mouse WORK electronically.

Zeppo:
I gave up trying to make my WW work correctly.
Opted for a mouse hack instead.

Then I took apart the WW joystick and made a Trigger stick by following the instructions on Oscar Controls old website:
http://mirrors.arcadecontrols.com/www.oscarcontrols.com/projects/triggerstick.shtml.html

Good luck!

I used to have the WW working very well with MAME under win98 (Tron!!).  I used the LES23 drivers.  I'm not sure what you mean about 'no acceleration'.  AFAIK, games like Arkanoid and Tempest did not have any dial acceleration implementation in the actual arcade versions.  I assume you've tried increasing the analog sensitivity in MAME?

marco75:
I have tried all sorts of analog control settings in Tempest and Arkanoid... either the controls are too insensitive, and I cannot reach the opposite side of the screen fast enough... or they are too sensitive, and I cannot stop in a precise location.

I don't have an arcade machine in my flat, so I cannot compare. But I remember playing Arkanoid on the C64 with a paddle, and that had nonlinear acceleration. I don't know about Tron : Deadly Disks.

Anyone got instructions for a mouse hack for the WW dial?
