:D I was just watching CNN and I saw a guy from Electronic Gaming Monthly talking about Emulators and playing classic games. I saw the plug for ARCADECONTROLS.COM when they showed the website and told people about the website. He went on to say that it was cheaper for people to play Ms.PacMan on their computers than to buy a machine for $1300...WOW.  I can see this website getting a few more hits in the near furture. Amazing how this hobby is catching on.

Here come more n00b5 ;)

mr.Curmudgeon:
The bad part: they started talking about the legalities of having ROMS. Damn it.

My guess is anyone that actually cares about classic arcade/console systems already knows about this site.  The rest will flood the hobby solely for the "cool" factor, which usually brings the llamas and the lawyers.

Damn...damn..damn.

I've seen the plug TWICE today.

CitznFish:
I don't think one CNN piece will wreak havok on our hobby. I wish someone tivo'd it, that would be cool to have posted on this site.

saint:
Don't forget this site is about building arcade controls -- not emulators, certainly not ROMs.

I'm stoked to see the site get publicity on a major news network like CNN, even if it was a 2 minute bit segment! Personal ego stroking aside (OK, I jumped up and down and made goofy noises for about 1/2 hour when I saw it), I love to see new people get exposed to the whole hobby.

I hope everyone will forgive the blatant plug for the book I threw up on the front page -- it's something I had meant to do when the book actually came out, but thought this was too perfect a time to pass up.

Anyway, I hope the legality of ROMs continues to make progress such as via StarROMs.com. It is very important to remember however that BYOAC does not have anything to do with ROMs and barely anything to do with emulators. It's all about the arcade controls :)
