Building my first cab

Again the arcade vga kicks --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules-- but you said your cab is jamma well here's my old jamma cab with just a j-pac.

grudgnor:
Well, after all of the great advice on the ArcadeVGA, I've decided to bite the bullet and lay down the $89 for it.  Even though I could probably pick up another cab for that cash, I know that it'll save me so much hassle compared to any other card out there.

paigeoliver, what encoder do you recommend?  Ipac and Jpac look great, but again, if I can save $25 bucks I'll go with something else.
This cab is stuck at my house 3 and a half hours away, but I'm heading home today to take a better look at it.  In the few hours I had with it when I bought it and put it in the house, I never got the control panel off (I think i see how it's supposed to lift off, but I was afraid that I could break something by forcing it) and didn't have a chance to really check out the insides of the cab (beyond looking through the coin door opening, the back of the machine is screwed on).  I know that the company I bought it from removed the Marvel vs. Capcom board from it, but I don't yet know if they removed the JAMMA connections.  I don't know why they would, but that might rule out the Jpac as an option if it's true.  I'll post later this weekend on what I find out.  Thanks for the replies!

That's just a GXTV by samsung.  It was a decent gaming TV for a boy like myself when I first got it a looong time ago.  It has 3 RCA inputs, 1 RCA out, and 2 coaxial plugs, along with those sexy fold out speakers.  Too bad it's only a 13".

Hey I thought I was the only one with one of those!! For a little tv they sound great.

Santoro:
OK, so I must be missing something. ???

What makes the AVGA a superior option over advancemame with a cheaper card?  I know ease of configuration is a biggie, but is there anything else?

IMHO my AdvanceMame/ATI/D9200 combination rocks.  I can boot into windows, and it was ~$50 cheaper that the AVGA.

I know it is just me since the group was practically unanimous about it.  Just want to inderstand why.  Thanks

Truz:
haha i have one of those samsung gxtv's as well... and i thought i was the only one with one. Yea it is pretty cool but its a little small, ive had it for a while and it got some good use back in the day. This is the first time i have ever encountered anyone else (let alone 2 people :o)  with this tv.. haha pretty funny.
