Logitech DFGT - Pedals suddenly only digital input
(1/1)
Vicinus:
Hi,
I recently played around a bit with the xbox emulators xemu and xenia on my racing cabinet, curious if they would work.
Afterwards I recognized that something is wrong with the pedals. Gas and brake seemed to be off and after some testing i figured that those only gave digital input - full or nothing. Same in the system control in windows. Wheel works fine but pedals act like buttons.
The fun thing is, that when i tick the box for "combined pedals" the pedals do work correctly. The second I untick -> digital.
Windows 10
Logitech Driving Force GT
Logitech Profiler 5.10
Mame
Supermodel
PC games
everything
After several de- and reinstallations of the wheel and the logitech software it still doesn't work correctly. Same issue.
I searched the whole registry, deleted as much as I could. Still nothing.
After one reinstallation the pedals seemed to work fine - after a reboot, again, digital. Don't know if or what difference I made during that installation.
I am not 100% sure if everything worked before I tried xemu/xenia but I guess so.
And I have this cabinet for several years and never encountered something like this.
So if anyone of you guys have any idea where to look at or hav any tips I would really appreciate it.
To reinstall the whole setup (windows, all emulators, PC games etc.) would be a real pain.
Oh and I testet xemu/xenia on another machine (bit more powerful Windows 11 instead of 10) - same wheel. No issues there.
Thanks in advance
Vic
SailorSat:
Try running the calibration in joy.cpl
Vicinus:
Hi, thank you for the reply!
In the meantime I was able to fix it myself but I guess the solution was similar.
I admit, that I never had to manuelly calibrate my wheel. And there is no option to do so in the systemcontrol panel you mentioned.
All I ever did was to install the profiler and the wheel autocalibrates when windows starts.
But I remembered playing Ford Racing 3 not long ago and I had to play around with the pedals a lot since they did not work initially. And it still shows strange behaviour - separate pedals work in gthe options but not ingame - combined pedals the other way around.
So I fired it up again and recalibrated the pedals inside that game. The game itself still has issues using a wheel but whatever.
And suddenly, the issue was gone.
So I guess all needed was a manual recalibration of the pedals.
all the best

With the logitech profiler installed there is still a way to get to the proper calibration options in windows. This is for older wheels like the GT or the G25, at least. Go into windows game controllers, then instead of clicking properties to test the controller:
CTRL + SHIFT while clicking Properties

Thanks! :D
Owning that wheel for several years - why didn't I know that?
I've might seen this interface for controllers, but I'm sure not for a wheel.
Pretty sure this will help me in the future.
