I've gotten on a mailing list for an estate sale company, mainly because they were auctioning a couple of arcade games a few months ago. I spent hours trading $1 increment bids back and forth with a guy on a Donkey Kong.. every bid extended the auction 5 minutes. I admire his tenacity and he got a working cocktail for like $275 around 11pm so good for him.
I've since bought a couple of dumb things in my immediate area. Brand new electric wok for $2, an HDTV still in the box for $1. ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I didn't need but it got me out of the house.
Starting to see a disturbing trend in subsequent sales. Guys that are probably 10-15 years older than us with the same interests. The latest one features NES games, comic books, and rock LPs. There, but for the grace of God, go us.
On the other hand, I'm like, "there's a market for this crap?" Maybe I'll fake my own death, sell all this junk, and wash up on an island.
