How to migrate MaximusArcade licenses - for real
« on: June 21, 2023, 10:16:31 pm »
Hi all,

I have seen many messages about how you can copy a license of Maximus Arcade from machine to machine, especially if you lost your license. I was upgrading my MAME PC today and realized I lost my key. But I did not lose my persistence.

Well, as the highly inquisitive person I am, I did some digging and figured it out.

Here's what you need to do in order to clone a license from one machine to another:

On your current Maximus Arcade computer, open Regedit.

Expand regedit to find this Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\XML

Select it and export the selected branch as a registry file (with the .reg extension).

Copy the .reg file to the machine you want to install Maximus Arcade to. Double click the .reg file and allow it to install.

Enjoy your license working on your newly transferred machine!

Cheers all, I hope this helps other long-suffering Maximus arcade users!
