warm is okay...hot is not.

bobbyb13:
Yeah, a bit charred actually.
There are some diodes that are crispy and a few connector pins that aren't happy either I imagine due to the brown color of things around them.
I just need to bite the bullet and buy boards for this too.

The power supply doesn't send 5V to the main board and I'm guessing that my alakaline damage repair to that one may not yield a functional board either.

It appears that changing to LEDs for these helps with load on the boards too and this is a machine that I think would still look fine with such a mod.

I have seen a few kits in places but if anyone has a recommended source for LED bulbs for this I'm all ears.

lilshawn:
PBJ mentioned not that long ago that even the cheapy Ebay LED's for pinballs are pretty decent these days. i'm inclined to agree.

pbj:
No, I bought them direct from the OEM in China.

I had some problems with LED flashers causing some very weird behavior on my World Cup 94.  I’m told it may be partially failing diodes on the driver board.  Whatever, I just switched some back to incandescent.

bobbyb13:
Awesome.
Thanks for the link!
I'll need to order a batch for these machines.
