Making SEGA Genesis cartridges

However, you can just hold the spring over a trashcan with forceps and hold a cigarette lighter flame on it and that clogged solder will just melt right out. (The other shop vac rig I’d have to throw into a fire pit occasionally)
The soldering iron side of it comes with a chisel tip and I learned another valuable lesson today… do sweep soldering on SMD chips with a chisel tip. It was a total disaster with my other iron and a fine tip.
You are looking at the absolute edge of my soldering abilities and eyesight. The rest of these components are through hole and should be easy.
The things I do for Malenko. :embarassed:

Hello, I actually used that board some months ago and checked the soldering several times, but I couldn’t get it to save the game. Did you manage to?

Nope. Neither the Mourix version or the original design worked for me. There’s a 32X cartridge shell 3D printer design that works with Genesis PCB screw layouts, so that’s how I’ll make 32X savers in the future.
I tried my hand at making NES bootlegs for Jaws Enhanced and that’s an absolute nightmare in comparison. I’d post more about these projects here but despite that $30,000 investment this forum software is 30 years out of date and actively fights you.

I think that the original PCB has a design problem and no save function is available. In fact, soniccd123 doesn't answer questions about it.
About 32x cartridge shells, check aliexpress: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c4ogFlLn

Neither even boot up for me, much less save. Oh well. :)
The linked file will print a 32X shell that holds a Genesis PCB. The 32X holes are wider spread normally.
