Galaga 3 too fast?
« on: February 27, 2004, 01:49:17 pm »
I was playing Galaga 3 yesterday and it was a lot harder than I remember.  I checked the frames (F11) and it was running at 120%.  Is there any way to slow this down?

Throttle it back.  Hit 'F10'

When it was running at 129% and I hit F10 it shot up to like 800%.  The slowest it will go it 120%.  Is there a way to adjust the throttle?

there is a property in the mame.ini syncrefresh (or something similar)

it makes mame run the exact fps as your monitor (good for people who configure their monitors refresh to the games.

Anyway, this is going to be your problem (assuming you keep your monitor at 120refresh)

Yep - syncrefresh will sort it - as it seems to override any throttle settings.

Although I got caught out when switching to TV-Out - caused no end of problems, and then when I had it all sorted, I disabled (removed) my pc monitor (was running tv and monitor same time to set up) - it completely changed a bunch of settings and speeds. Sigh.
