So I've been building an ultralight

Air to air photo, at about the same time. first of my plane 🙂
The other plane (taking the photo ) is a 1946 Aeronca Champ. It was the first tail dragger I had a go at flying in. Later it was seriously damaged in a crash during takeoff. The current owner bought it, while still an apprentice and rebuilt it 😊

First service. It's amazing how much oil sits in such a small filter. I ended up wearing some of it 😄 I cut the filter open to check for particles. Nothing dramatic thankfully

The plane is finally fully registered. Please form an orderly queue for tickets 😊
Zebidee:
Well done!

Thanks 🙂
Hoping to take my ex for my first passenger. We still get along and she was a major driving force for this project, for better or worse. There are some fuel stations in Australia that are running out of fuel now though, and I use more fuel driving to the airfield than flying the plane. But hopefully we can get a flight in this weekend before the ensuing zombie apocalypse.
Latest work on the plane is trying a different aerial. The radio isn't great and I feel with the original aerial the radios performance ranges from bad to ok. I'm hoping with this new aerial it ranges from ok to good. The previous was a dipole and totally inside the fuselage.
