Burger Time To-Go: Portable Bartop

After completing two bigger projects (standup and a conventional bartop) I wanted to take the lessons learned and do a simple potable bartop.

I had three goals for the project:
•   Lightweight
•   Simple
•   Cheap! – total cost came in around $75

Specs:
•   ¼” MDF
•   Old atom netbook
•   GGG Leaf pro 4way joystick
•   GGG classix buttons with leaf switches
•   Zero delay encoder
•   Mala FE
•   Limited game list (1 button 4way vertical classics)

In the end it isn’t a work of art, but I’m fairly happy with how it turned out. Please let me know if you have any questions/comments/criticisms.

I glued 1/4" square dowels down as battens, then glued to those. The back panel and top panels are screwed into 1/2" square dowel battens which are glued.

I should have done threaded inserts in the back for access, but they're screwed directly into the blocks. I'm hoping they'll hold up. I've tried to limit the number of times I screwed/unscrewed the back panel.

Just noticed this build.  Looks great!  Did you dismantle the netbook and flip the screen around?

I did. That was actually the first step. The dimensions of the rest of the build were based off the dimensions of the netbook so I could make it as small as I could without going too crazy.

I totally love Burgertime.  Absolutely suck at it, but enjoy it.  Also just followed the link to ShrunkenMaster's BT build, very cool as well.

Yes Burgertime is such a great game. But I too suck at it. There is some really clever strategy to playing it well. However, I don't think I've ever passed the 4th stage.
