mouse and win mame

So I'm using winmame (not 32).
I'm using mamewah as frontend. When setting up the frontend, you need to tell it the location of the mame executable. So "c:\blabla\mame\mame.exe". Then when starting a game the frontend adds the gamename after it and starts mame.
Now in the frontend there is no mouse(thats ok). But I know that standard there is also no mouse in mame. So how do I turn it on?

Do I just add -mouse to the executional path or is there something I need to change in the menu that you get when pressing TAB in a game? And is mouse always for whole mame, or can I give some games mouse and others not?

And one more thing. Say that I add -mouse to the executional path. Is that bad for the games that don't need/support mouse?

You need to enable the mouse in the mame.ini config file.  To create the mame.ini file, run mame.exe -cc.  Then in the ini file set "mouse" from "0" to "1" to enable the mouse in games.  Enabling the mouse for games that do not use it will do no harm and the mouse input will be ignored for those games.
