Isolation Transformer wiring help!
KonkeyKong:
there must be something whacky with the iso, I followed your directions to the "T", but no luck. The rest of the wiring that was left in the cab was awful so I'm not totally surprised. Now to find a simpler in-and-out iso....
pbj:
But since you didn't bother testing it with a multimeter, you'll never know for sure.
ed12:
as pbj pointed out
use a mulit meter and meter the leads
it look's like a dual 117vac in which can confiqued as a 220vac in
it is in the wiring..so start there
also as was pointed out to u
u have to confiqure the primanry side to take 117vac or 220vac
best i can see is 1 to 8 and 5
2 to 6 and 3
which should confiquire it as a 117 vac input
the easy test
is remove all wires and measure between 8 and 6 low ohm's should read about 1-8 ohm's
and 5 and 3 this will tell u the winding's same readings
then for good measure chk between 1 and 2 .this should read open
if this is the case ? then follow ^^^^^^ what i stated and u should be gold

KonkeyKong:
measured... check.
1 to 8 and 5...check
2 to 6 and 3...check
plug it in...poof, blew fuse.
added another picture of my set up to help clarify. Numbers in circles correspond to those on the schematic.
ed12:
try this
1 on the filter to 8
2 on the filter to 6
just that winding, and see if the fuse blows
the winding ohm's is right
if it dose not blow the fuse >>making sure there is 0 load on the secondary side<<
u should find 120vac at 5 and 3
plus on the secondary side where u want to tie in...
what u need to rember about these power transfomer is they are PHASE depented
ie 0 to 0 /hot to hot
any other config expect for jumping to 220vac will blow the fuse
