but what i am after is the base o/s,and yes doing a compare on a running game
and the game disk's should narrow down what is used on the base o/s
at least that is my understanding

If you would get around to making a 1:1 image copy of that maxx hard drive for me, i could make you an image of just the base OS.
It needs to be no later then Maxx Diamond / Diamond 2

fair enough
i am going in to the warehouse today
we have 6 running maxx's there running
i can snag 1

If possible, snag one that was a Maxx CD to Hard drive conversion kit. Meaning one that was originally only designed to run off the hard drive. I read there are versions out there that were originally run from the CD drive and somehow converted to hard drive. Those might make things a bit more difficult if the data structure was altered.
Im pretty sure Diamond and Diamond 2 would be the best choice.
Also, if you can find any Force 2002- 2004 software install Disc's I would like if you could make some iso images of them aswell. Force 2002 - 2002.5 would best.
Im pretty sure i can get Force 2002 to run off a wide variety of chipsets, pretty much any mobo that has the same chipset as XL, Maxx, and Force.

Maxx Emerald should have the same base OS as Force. But yes I will take the Maxx Emerald hard drive image if you can. The Ruby should be the DOS based OS.
I will pretty much like anything you have so i can compare. I have the older XL platinum and i have force 2005+ so anything below would help.
