Is anyone able to run Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6 via Teknoparrot linked in a LAN? I don't need bananapass support or anything, just a local 2 player match on both of my cabs would be fine. Can this be done?

Someone should add Thrill Drive 3 to the list of working multiplayer network games. The way you network this is the same as networking other PS2 games with PCSX2's network adapter (be sure to enter test mode and change the network ID for other instances/machines).

This game is also known for having rather bad netcode to the point other player cars tend to jump at random (at least on actual Thrill Drive 3 cabs). It may or may not happen in emulation (if not, then this may be the best way to play multiplayer Thrill Drive 3).

Decided to attach some old screenshots of me running two instances of PCSX2 on one PC connected via a bridged TAP adapter.

Short answer: Arcade because there was never a PS2 port to begin with.

Long answer: Thrill Drive 3, running on Konami Python 2, uses a stock SCPH-50000 MB/NH PS2 and official network adapter. Because PCSX2 has LAN support using the network adapter and Python 2 USB support was advancing well, I asked myself if it was possible to link up Thrill Drive 3 (let alone a hacked version) in PCSX2 the same way you'd link other PS2 games with ethernet LAN multiplayer. Unsurprisingly, it worked.

Medium answer: There's a special fork of PCSX2 that works with Konami Python 1/2, Konami Bemani Python games, and the Namco System 246 games, which were based off PlayStation 2 hardware. If you Google "pcsx2 python2 fork" the very first link should take you to somewhere to download it.

Hi,

I just successfully set up Burnout 3 TakeDown, with  Pcsx2. I have a HD texture pack + patched the game to be compatible with the revived online servers.
My G29 are supported by the emulator. After set up, you can create two accounts (one for each PC) and play one against the other. Tested myself. Really cool!

I was just debating on trying to get some PS2 games working on my cabinets.

Sega Dirt Showdown works with TeknoParrot.
I edited the ini files, adding my IP adresses and giving a different ID for each cabinet. It worked at first try so I do not know whether the IP adresses were really necessary.
I am a bit disappointed with the game using my G29 wheel. FFB effects are mainly rumble there is not a strong feeling of driving.

I got to play Afterburner Climax in the arcade for the first ever time yesterday. They had two cabinets... that were linked up! I had no idea that Afterburner Climax (as well as having an awesome moving cabinet) had a 2 player link up versus mode in the arcade! I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned anywhere that the game supports multiplayer. Shame this feature wasn't carried across into the home ports on the PS3 and Xbox 360 via an online function. No idea if Teknoparrot support this 2 player link up mode or not...

There are two version of Afterburner Climax in Teknoparrot, the newer one is labeled "elfloader2" and requires a subscription.   I think elfloader is for running linux games in windows.

Neither of them have any options in TK for setting up linked play (other games like H2Overdrive do).   Its possible its not implemented yet.   It might be possible without TK.  And its also possible that its one of those games that "phones home" and registers the establishment's keys to operated (something that would have to be bypassed to get it working in TK).

The speed at which these newer games are getting "dumped" (copied from internal PC) is getting pretty fast.  I'm sure the developers aren't too happy about it.

Yes, I imagine Raw Thrills are getting pretty peeved every time one of their recent games gets cracked and made playable. However, Afterburner Climax is nearly 20 years old now (which is kind of mind blowing in itself) and is pretty unlikely to ever see the light of day as a home release again, due to all the licensed jets in it. Fortunately I picked up a copy on PS3 when it was still available for purchase.

I don't think there's any difference in the actual 'elfloader 2' version of the game itself, between it and the OG version that was playable in Teknoparrot, as far as I understand it's just superior emulation of the Linux based hardware with elfloader 2 (the original Elfloader doesn't scale up the HUD properly in-game if you play at higher resolutions).

Which ini file did you change? What exactly did you change? I've been trying for weeks but it doesn't work

Hi, finally Showdown works for me

for LAN playing change this

In directory ShellData, file ShellData.ini:
- enable Network
- attribute a number to each cabinet
- change "AttractMusic=20" in "AttractMusic=1"

in this case there is no need to enter the IP addresses of each cabinet.
