Mame Build
Well Fed Games:
Hate to be "that guy" but to MAME a home-use only mint cabinet... maybe consider selling it and continuing to search for something gutted? If you got it for a reasonable price you might be able to flip it and come out ahead. Just my 2 cents- good luck with the project either way.

I did get it for a fair price, by the time I build a cabinet, find a suitable large screen etc, it would cost over double to the amount.
PL1:
I think what WFG was trying to say is that since the cab is Home Use Only (HUO) and in mint condition, it should be preserved for posterity -- odds are that collectors will pay good money to get their hands on a mint all-original HUO cab with matching serial numbers.
With the proceeds from that sale, you can probably find a more suitable cab to convert.
You may even be able to trade your HUO cab for a suitable cab + some cash.
MAMEing (Maiming?) a HUO cab in mint condition is almost always frowned on by the community unless any modifications that you do can be easily and completely undone without leaving a trace.
It's your cab, so it's your decision. :dunno
We're just warning you that there's a very good chance you will encounter some very  and :soapbox: responses if you go down that path.

P.S. The KLOV entry for Dead or Alive has no photos of the cab, sideart, or control panel -- I'm sure some good photos would be greatly appreciated. ;D
Progetto Snaps would also appreciate those photos.

makes good sense, thanks for the advice, appreciated.
As soon as it arrives (should be in the next few days) I will get some high quality pictures.
I forgot to look, but don't suppose you know if it would be Jamma wired or not?
PL1:
IIRC The KLOV entry said that it runs on Sega Model 2 hardware and that there is a Sega to Jamma adapter available.
Also, if you have a flatbed scanner, scanning the sideart like this would help anyone interested in doing a restoration.
Checked all the usual arcade art sites and there's hardly anything on this game besides a flyer and a low-res marquee at Progetto Snaps -- most cabs you can find high-res images/scans of the sideart, marquee, control panel, and monitor bezel.

EDIT: I don't see any PDFs/scans of the manual on the usual sites, either.
