Well then, there's another Dr. Venture (with very colourful hairstyle no less) masquerading as you! There were no other 'creative' vids, so it looks like I'm a failure as a Detective. :lol

I've seen it done at least once on here.  Not sure what brand they used.  It was over a poster and looked pretty decent.

I've done a couple bar tops with Envirotex and don't see why it wouldn't work.
I like having edges to hold the stuff in, so half of it isn't wasted.
