Ok After 10 years away from mame..what do I need now to play?
Demon-Seed:
Hey Guys
Seriously..... It has been almost 10 years.... since I really got into mame!!! A wife and four kids do that :) I am planning a new build (finally!!) and noticed all kinds of late 90's games are now supported on mame! Games like NFL Blitz, Cruisin USA, Carnevil, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Gauntlet Legends, Maximum Force, Area 51, House of the dead etc.......
I know HOD doesn't run, but other newer 3d games like blitz do? What kind of CPU, Ram and video does one need now for mame to play at full (or near full) speed? What size HD is required for complete install with CHD etc...????? I apologize if there is a link elsewhere to my answers.... maybe someone can direct me in the right direction? I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Jim

Blitz, lol

If you are gonna have a full current mame chd and attract video set up, it ends up being about 350gb. On my i3 with 8gb of ram NFL Blitz plays great (there are some sound issues though, but nothing that hampers game play). Carnevil and other types run great with mame. HOD stuff can be run with m2 emulator.
good day.

Try finding the original board and play Blitz that way. It would be cheaper in the long run.
