Capacitor choice

(1/1)

lilshawn:
having a dilemma regarding choices in capacitors.

I have a monitor that has a blown bi-polar capacitor in the horizontal circuit. It's a 10uF 50volt. It's a huge bugger... about the size of a dime in diameter and about 1.5 inches high.

some non-polar replacements I've seen are big like the original, while others are teeny tiny. (~1/8th inch in size)

are these tiny ones okay to use in this circuit?  ??? :embarassed:

no
that simple
with bi-polar,the larger the better
reason is simple,reverse current
