showcase nightmare
« on: March 14, 2013, 10:26:15 pm »
had an interesting repair  today (  REALLY sorry i didn't think to take pictures  :banghead: )

Total Vice showcase unit  ( 32"CRT) was to be delivered to a vending location when Nature had other ideas.
was a bit windy and the monitor section was blown OFF the pedestal while in transit.
mounting plate had pulled out of the base unit with the section coming to rest on the game front  (guns).

managed to disconnect all cables to the monitor and gingerly remove.
removed as many of the useless "nails"  left in the base as possible.
glued and secured base with SCREWS this time .
returned monitor to pedestal and secured .
reconnected cabling and then time for the survival test... DID IT ?

NO damage to CRT ( shadow mask/scratches, etc )  :o :o  :o
aside from a number of new screws, no other evidence there was a problem .

owner was very lucky !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
