Did you install the correct sound driver for that Dell dimension?

I am working on one just like this one. No video, from either the vga or the svga ports. Trying to see what is needed to replace and reboot the cpu. Any help will be welcomed.

Thank you

it it appears to be working (fans spinning lights on but no video.) it could be bad ram or bad CPU or bad videocard.

check and see if the computer speaker is plugged in... usually it will beep a code at you to let you know what the deal is if its the cpu or ram... but not always.

if the speaker is connected and not making any beeps at you, suspect the CPU. try removing and reinserting it. remove and reinsert the video card. AGP is notorious for bad connections.

check you motherboard for swollen bulged or leaky capacitors. google "bad caps" and see what they look like... you may have a half dozen that need replacing.

otherwise start shopping for a used dell... there is a side thread about swapping to a dell computer in this thread here a few years back.

Hi guys working on restoring my team challenge. I purchased a gx280 the only issue I’m running into is it’s a SFF and has only one IDE port so cd rom is ide but HDD isn’t. Is there a solution to this at all? From what I’ve read I need both cd rom and HDD to be ide and I know very little about ide connections so any help I would appreciate so much.

My team challenge PC died long ago. I've been digging around with a Dell replacement PC and having very little luck with the imaged hard drive I dropped in.

I was wondering three things that might help.

1 - is there any automatic driver downloader software for Windows XP? I've got some miscellaneous drivers I can't seem to find and I think they are the reason my PC will boot and load PGA tour, but button presses don't work.

Not that I'm aware of.  Are you in the facebook group?  That's your best and probably only resource for the necessary drivers.

2 - if I can't get things to work, can I update the PC to windows 7, then still let PGA tour auto-boot and such?

No.  This definitely does not work.  I don't believe you can upgrade from XPEmbedded to 7.

3 - if nothing else, could I do a fresh clean install of XP or Windows 7 and install the PGA tour software separately?

No. Doesn't work that way.  there's too many dependencies.  Again, there's a very, very manual way to make this work but it's not 100% stable and it's like a 100 step process.

I came across the original EA Sports PGA golf. Unit is good except the hard drive is bad. Is there a way to get the ISO of the hard drive? No disk left in unit. I have dongle original DFI computer. Really like to get this cabinet up and running for the family. Thanks for any help.

Join the Facebook group-- I'm certain it's mentioned in this thread.  That's where support is and where you can get literally any help you could possibly need to get it up and running.

Hi everyone, hoping someone could help me out. I am trying to build a new machine for our cabinet (Everlast wrapped out). I got as far as imaging the restore pqi to a new disk, installing TC and grabbed all the drivers from system32. I then made a new Vista 32-bit install on a new drive, sorted all my drivers out, pasted the XPe win32 dlls (no overwriting) and then used Laplink PCMover to migrate everything from the XPe install. It was going well, but then when going through the normal CoursePreload, AgentPatcher, etc, I get an error "GvrShell Script Error" with the message "frameCounter is not defined..". Keeps crashing and looping after that. Is this a bad video driver install? I just grabbed the one from nvidia for Vista 32b.

System:
Dell Optiplex 755
Intel Q9550 Cpu
6GB ram
GeForce 9600 gt 512MB

Any help is appreciated. Would love to get this thing online or at least back to the AAP we had going on the old hardware.
