High Score Competition #99: Pac-Land

<< < (10/10)

This is probably the most bizzare ending to any of the competitions. First no one reacts to the proposed by OP end date, and then against his wishes and without any consideration his date is overriden with disregard whether anyone else might be assuming they still have a chance to compete, because of the original end date... Whatever.

I'd agree.  It was an odd ending.

I did what I did based on the following factors:
A) Active participants verbally decided to stop the longer timeframe and were agreeing to pick a new game, along with congratulations to me for winning.
B) Like you said in your post right from the start, 3 weeks was abnormally long which supported my observation in my short time here that have all been 2 weeks in length (give or take a day).
C) Revenger himself mentioned he should probably adjust the length, but did not.
D) Presumably, the winner usually chooses the next game, which I did.

That all said, people can still submit scores if they want to the BYOAC High Game Scoreboard and dethrone not even the high score here, but for any previously run competition.

Hopefully, Revenger, you aren't too put off with how things went down here.  If so, I truly apologize and was just keeping the games flowing.

Regarding length of competition - about 2 weeks just feels right.  It gives most people a chance to at least try it and feel how they want to proceed with the competition.  I would add that there should be a rule in which a competition can be aborted after 1 week, although I am not sure how many "new game" posts will be needed and if the posts should include only score posters or not...  something to think about.

New game coming up in a bit.

Yep, 2 weeks is good. All you ladies who can't wait that long, you can
